One of the British national daily newspapers is asking readers
"what it means to be British?".

Some of the emails are hilarious but
this is one from a chap in Switzerland ...

"Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for
A Belgian beer, then traveling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a
Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch
American shows on a Japanese TV.

And the most British thing of all?

Suspicion of anything foreign ".

I guess you have to be there.;)
Anti-clockwise - The first time a Brit said that something had gone anti-clockwise to someone in Texas he got this very funny look. It simply means counter-clockwise but must sound really strange to you chaps! I think he thought I had something against clocks!
OMG!!!! You bunch are against clocks?:rotflmao:

Very true Beanie, as I sit here typing on my Chinese laptop (used to be American, till recently) wearing my sweatshop (malaysian - chinese?) jeans whilst watching my Dutch TV.

No mention of beer here. Have you changed your sexuality?

shut up you plonker, cant booze tonight, I'm off to Tesco at midnight for the perishables.

Got some Kronie and Pedigree in earlier, so the big fridge in the garage is getting a bit full. Couple of visits over the next few days should thin out the French, English, Welsh and German stuff. Thats the EU for you!
Thought I'd get some of that American beer in, just in case we get any kids turn up with the visitors :afro:

Nearly!!!! Kronenborg 1664 lager and Marston's Pedigree (bit like Sam Adams, but nice). Know it's not much use to you Nick, but if your going to booze, might as well have something with taste and texture!

That's the stuff I generally give to the dog or use when washing my car. Or Lufbra's beer sometimes too.

Went to Asda, Brynmawr last night and bought :-

1 crate Felinfoel
1 crate SA
1 crate Strongbow
1 crate Guinness
1 crate Kronenbourg

Plus various bottles of wines and spirits. Got undercharged for petrol to the sum of 35 notes in the Shell garage on Malpas Road as the bint before me paid for my pump. I quite willingly paid for hers as she'd only spent a tenner.

Didn't get my discount off the wine I bought so when I went to customer services she gave me vouchers for £3 off next time.

Bought 1 x 4 socket gang plug and as the offer was 3 for 2 I ended up walking out of the store with 4 in the bag. Top maths.

And they say Christmas is stressful!

I'm going off now to spend some money on the Euro millions draw for tomorrow night.

Gotta be in it to win it.

I'll update when I see the numbers tomorrow.

Finest tasting cwrw I've EVER had was Pedigree (it's also name of a dog food, Nick, so it's often known as "a pint of dog, please bar steward"). I used to do the National Rally, which is an 24 hour motorcycle endurance/navigation run. About 3 am I pulled into a checkpoint in Sherwood Forrest (near that gurt big mine they have up there) and the buggers had a Marston pump set up in the tent, seeing as we were about 5 miles from the brewery.
It had been a sweltering day and I'd been on the bike for about 13 hours at the time and was due for one of my compulsory 1 hour rest breaks, so the lad gave me a pint of dog. Like mana from heaven. Slept like a baby for an hour on the grass verge, full leathers and helmet etc. Woke up as if I'd spent 12 hours in a spa.

Got plenty of room at The Ponderosa old mate.

Bring Mrs MJ and make a night of it.
Oh, and don't forget the car keys;)
