She is going on a graduation trip and wants to use my spare laptop between her and 3 other friends. I have no problem with that. However, I was looking at it today and as a guest the icon that allows you the option to select available wireless connections such as at a hotel is not there. When I go into network and sharing center it also does not allow changes as a guest.

Does this also happen away from home network? Is there anyway to allow a guest user to select available wireless connections while away from default home connection?

I know the simple solution would be just to give her the password on the laptop. I do trust her with everything just not sure about others with her.

Although I use Excel 2010, the file was maintained as a 2003 file because my wife inputs the quarterly data and she was using Excel 2003. She got a new computer running Win 7 and updated to Office 2010 so now the chart is maintained as an Excel 2010 file. I ran into problems updating the chart recently. I got a message that said it was to complex to display. I deleted the chart sheet from the file and created a new one. The chart displays the data properly but the x (date) axis values are daily dates from 01/01/1900 to 01/22/1900. The axis is formatted as 'date'. The actual dates should be Jan 1 (01/01), April 1 (04/01), July 1 (07/01) and Oct 1 (10/01) of each year from 2008 to 2013. The chart is actually setup through 01/01/14 and it is automatically updated as future quarterly data are entered. The plotted data are calculations from formulas and I use a function in the formulas that prevents the data lines from going to zero for the quarters that have not yet been entered. It was pretty easy to set the date range in earlier versions of Excel but, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do it in 2010. I have done extensive searches, have done searches on this site and have poured through "Microsoft Office 2010 Bible" and have not found an answer that makes any sense to me. I did find that I could get the right dates in by copying the range of date values from the worksheet and pasting them into the axis area but that scrambled up the plot area. also there is a popup down by the clock that keeps saying something like "Windows update cant connect" or something. probably because of that certificate warning.

I ran malwarebytes and superantispyware and removed the mywebsearch toolbar virus.

should I try uninstalling IE and reinstalling it so that the browser is at default settings? is there a way I can reset browsers to default?

Please help. I'm trying to help Lisa, who I kind of have adopted as a daughter. She moved into her own apartment and just got her internet hooked up mainly to go on Facebook. And cant because of this browser problem. I brought my laptop to her house and connected to facebook via her wireless modem. I was able to connect just fine.

My son has a desktop on Win7 where I intend to connect the printer, my wife has a laptop on Win7, and I have a laptop on XP. We have an AT&T wireless router/modem. Do I need to make a home network? I am kind of partial towards having a home network because I am worried that if one gets a virus, then it might affect the others.

My computer is running really slow and freezes quite often.

A colleague suspects its a malware problem as when start the computer a pop up appears called 'uniblue scanner' telling me to download/register etc... for stuff.

Chrome doesn't want to work either and instead comes up with something called 'Babylon Search'?

Any help would be appreciated?
