Hi,

Tried to open chrome for some browsing this evening and found the mywebsearch home page popping up instead. When I click the home button it reverts to the usual chrome page but when I close the browser and open it again it switches back to mywebsearch.

I've tried looking in settings and my default browser is shown as google chrome with no mention of mywebsearch or any of the other names attached to it.

Mywebsearch says to look on the add/remove list in the control panel but it isn't on the list. An all files search shows no sign of it and according to mywebsearch it isn't ad/malware but to everyone else it's a curse.

IE diverted to mws but that was removed easily, firefox shows no sign of it but chrome swaps back everytime.

I've looked through some online ways to remove it but none seem to work.

So, is it dangerous, does it slow the pc down and if so, what's the best way to get rid of it and keep it gone?

As far as I know I'm careful where I browse and access nothing dodgy.

Thanks in advance.

Hi I would welcome some advice on the following---Using a samsung dvd/hdd recorder I recorded some tv footage to the hdd and then tried to copy this to a blank dvd+r disc [4.7gb 120 mins]. Everything went fine for approx 30 mins and then when i added more footage to be copied i received this message "unable to copy as no more space on disc". At this point i had only copied approx 25 mins of footage so if it states 120 mins on the disc why am i being told no more space on disc?. I am not very techie minded and was wondering am i using the right disc for the job. In total the footage i need to copy from the hdd is approx 85 mins long consisting of 38 chapters [each one varies in time from 2mins to 14mins] and my machine will only allow a max of 7 chapters to be copied in one go. I then add the next 7 and continue but this is when the no space message appears.

I was working on a drawing in a program called Paint Tool Sai, and my computer crashed. I know I saved the file about 10 minutes earlier, but when I managed to restart my computer and reopened the file, the layer with most of the details was just gone. The changes I made in other layers stayed, but the that specific layer was suddenly empty. Is there a way to restore the file from, say, fifteen minutes before the crash, or is all hope lost? I tried to check the Earlier Versions thingy in the properties, but there are no versions there, at all.

I hope I'm posting this in the right place. Thank you!

I am running WIN200 on this computer, and have no desire to change. I have a scheduled task which runs every morning, and have preciously had no problem withit. Suddenly, it doesn't run. I checked the Task Scheduler, and the message said it was turned off. I attempted to turn it on, but was not successful Ultimately Component Services told me that a file named "DacCom.DLL" was improperly installed, and had to be re-installed so that the Task Scheduler would run.

The file doen't exist on my computer, nor does it seem to exist on my WIN2000 installation disk..

I Googled the problem, and it seems to be fairly common. None of the solutions offered helped.

The program I want to run operates quite well when called up, but nothing will run from the Task Scheduler.

Anyone have any ideas how to restore "DacCom.dll"?

I have started a new job teaching in Thailand and had trouble hooking up my ASUS netbook (EC PC 1001P, running Windows XP) to the projector we had. Once the vga connector was inserted, a blue/black image would appear on the projected image and some text in the bottom right stating "1024*768 frame rate lock" and the image would flicker a lot (but no discernible picture would appear anyway). I tested the vga connection using my second monitor (a 20" widescreen LG model) and an image displays perfectly.

I also have a black ASUS N70SV laptop with a 17" widescreen and when I hooked this up to the projector we have, it worked! But after about 3 weeks, i lost my projected image and when I hooked up to an external monitor, it was blank too. So my question is, how can i check to see if my vga connections are faulty and if so, could I repair them or is there a solution so I could hook up to projectors with no agro. We have tested the projector with other laptops and they work fine!

Hello there!

I got done after writing this document for three weeks...Suddenly (today), my document appears to be blank. I didn't download anything..Didn't go on any porn sites (surprisingly), or anything. In fact I didn't go on anything after I finally finished my document, which was finished yesterday.

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwA...DAydnBGM0xJRGs

there's the link to the document ^

When I highlight the document, it appears to be words there, it's just nothing shows up. It's as if all my text is white. However, the text is clearly black. The font color is still blank, so I don't understand what's going on here.

It's almost as if things were looking too good in my life, so this of course had to happen to even it out.

No matter, I'll never type and save anything in wordpad ever again, that's for sure.

Oh, and when I tried opening this in Windows XP, it shows a string of squares, so it looks like the file is definitely (mysteriously) corrupted.

Any way to fix this? If anybody fixes this, I'll pay that person 10 dollars via paypal

Thank you very much!
