I tryed that and it still didnt work I am at my wits end Ijust dont understand what is wrong with it. but if you think of anything else let me know I will keep trying untill I get it working lol |
Hi Lisa, A couple of other things to check:
Click Start > Run > type msconfig and click OK Click the Startup tab. Make sure there is a check in the box for system tray. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Multimedia > Audio tab Under "playback", Make sure your soundcard is chosen as the preferred device. * edit Don't worry about the second one (I just re-read your first post) Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Device Manager Click the + next to Sound, video and game controllers. What is listed? |

Thank you for your help. I have Crystal EDM Audio Codec Gameport Joy Stick MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device This is all that is under Sound,Video and Game controllers and I will try the other sugestion you gave and get back to you. Thank-You Lisa |
Hi Lisa, Try this
Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Look and see if there is an entry for Crystal Audio. (or audio) If so uninstall it. Then boot into safe mode and remove the audio devices in the device manager. Reboot to Windows and re-install the drivers. |
no sound or mic

THANK YOU I am so happy it worked finaly I did what you said to do in safe mode and I have my sound and mic back you have made me one happy person you did in a few messages what Hewlet-Packard could not do in 7 weeks I got so fed up with them I started looking on the web that is where I found this site I will recomend this sight to all I know and tell them that the people here are great THE BEST:D |
