Restoring from Nero (nco files)
I have a backup of my recently deceased PC and it was done with Nero. All the files I backed up have the .nco extension. Is there any way to retrieve these files as I don't have Nero on my new PC. I tried renaming the extension, too.
Thanks. |

15 day trial with ads, but fully functional. You will need NERO to restore, you cannot rename the backup files. |

Well you could rename them *.nco is a compressed file so you could open in say WinZIp or WinRAR, open the file then save and rename it.
So you could change it to *.zip but would not be able to restore it. If the file is encrypted then you cannot rename. If you can't see the file extension, open any folder, click "Organize," click "Folder and search options," click the "View" tab, and uncheck the box marked "Hide extensions for known file types." Now you can right-click and rename the NCO file to a ZIP file, which Windows can open. |
