checksum error
I have two minor problems on win 98 SE operating system.
When I start my computer it proceeds as far as recognizing the hard drives after which I get this message check sum error I/O conflict. Press F1 to continue. If I do this the computer works fine. The second problem is that I am not able to set the date in CMOS. Even after I change it to the current date and time, every time the computer is restarted the date goes back to Jan 1, 1997. Thanks. |

You probably just have a dead CMOS battery.
Open up the case and you should see the bettery (round silver one normally). Pull it out and note the battery type and get a new one. |
