Need Help Installing OS, Please Help Tonight!!

I purchased an Atom PC and it has no OS on it. I need to put one on it. I have an OS disk for Win xp, and an external HD. I copied the xp disk to my external Hard Drive, but the Atom is not finding it as the primary boot disk. Please assist tonight! Thanks~

Well first posting several threads won't get you the help any faster. I am closing the other one.

1. You cannot copy Windows XP to a hard drive (external) then try and load to another computer. You must be able to boot the computer your trying to install it on from the XP cd/dvd.

2. You may not want to hear this, but you need to read THIS. You may not be able to activate it once installed on the Atom...

3. The easiest way is use a USB flash drive (thumb drive) of at least 8gb.

I did ok until I got to the command prompt. I dont know what to type...

Now, it's time to copy Windows to the flash drive. To do so, you will have to use a special batch file that's included with PEBuilder. Open a Command Prompt window and navigate to c:\pebuilder313\plugin\peinst. Now, insert an empty flash drive into the computer's USB port and then execute the file PEINST.CMD. You will now see a menu appear as shown in Figure B.

Type PEINST.CMD (hit<OK>)

Im usually good at following instructions, but after 3 days, I cannot get this to work!

Ok, lets see if there is an easier way.

http://www.bootdisk.com/pendrive.htm Several methods that have a step-by-step and the program you need. I would try Method 1
