New Motherboard

Hi I have a sony vaio model pcv-rz22g and I dont want to get rid of the case its too nice lol so I want to install a new motherboard but dont know if it will fit this is the board I want to install http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157292 I took some pics of the inside of the case including the connectors for the power switch and the front usb ports also I have upgraded the power supply with this http://www.cputopia.com/psu-replace-...s-295ab-a.html I plan on installing new sata drives and cd burners and upgrade from windows xp to windows 7 help on this would be great thanks. http://s1195.photobucket.com/albums/...mputer%20pics/

Mainboard "should" fit. You may need to add/move (might even have to change them can't say for sure) the mounting standoffs in the case so they line up with the mounting holes in the board. You may need to modify the power/led connection that plugs into the mainboard since the connector wiring may not be in the same order/configuration as the pins on the board. (the front usb connectors should be ok).

I took the motherboard out of the case and looked at the standoffs I dont think they can be moved like in an aftermarket case I beleave they are fixed.

Mounting holes in the motherboard are generally standard (ie: their pattern and spacing are the same, depending on form factor). Same goes with cases, if they are larger cases, (such as gaming or full tower), then they also have extra holes for moving the standoffs to accommodate different size boards. The caveat here, is that you have a proprietary pc, which means it was built to Sony's specifications and so they may have used standoffs not easily moved.
