Laptop cannot seem to keep Wi-Fi connection
Hey guys, so I am at my wits end here. Recently, due to some reason I have not yet figured out, my laptop has started bugging out with the wi-fi and connecting to my wireless connection at home. What it does is it keeps trying to connect, and sort of connects. It gets that little yellow triangle, and says Limited Connectivity. When I check the status, I am in fact getting an IP address, and everything SEEMS to be in order. On my router's configuration page, however, I cannot see my laptop's MAC address in the list of attached wireless devices. The internet does seem to work for about a few minutes every time I restart the router.
At first I thought it might have been an IP conflict issue, so I tried setting up a static IP on my laptop. Then I tried reserving an IP for my laptop through the router. Then I tried both. And while all three attempts seemed to have fixed the problem, it came back within a few minutes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my wireless card drivers, updating my router firmware, etc... Please if you know of anything else I can do, let me know. I have tried everything I can, and nothing just seems to work. I am hoping it is not a hardware failure on the laptop. Thanks for reading! Oh and also, my laptop is an HP running Windows 7, and my router is a TP-Link TL-WR841N v7 Here are the results for ipconfig/all and a couple screenshots: C:\Users\Sassan>ipconfig/all Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Sina-Laptop Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection 2: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-26-C7-6C-54-E7 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-26-C7-6C-54-E6 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::bc04:d6d:1b94:963e%15(Preferred) IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.106(Preferred) Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Wednesday, July 11, 2012 3:26:29 AM Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Saturday, August 17, 2148 10:05:18 AM Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 DHCPv6 IAID . . . . . . . . . . . : 352331463 DHCPv6 Client DUID. . . . . . . . : 00-01-00-01-13-B7-74-55-C8-0A-A9-ED-76-52 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : C8-0A-A9-ED-76-52 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Tunnel adapter isatap.{9A151370-79CA-45D4-AEBC-8D193F7C1FC8}: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Microsoft ISATAP Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes The first screenshot is of my laptop (the one with the issue), and the 2nd is of my desktop which is working fine. Notice how my desktop has an entry called IPv4 DHCP Server, which my laptop does not. Just something interesting to note. ![]()

I was able to find my Windows 7 CD key and just opted to do a format and fresh install. Everything is back in working order. I suspect it had something to do with the registry and such.
