Talking Freeware!

I thought it would be adventagious for everyone if I make a thread and dedicate it to freeware. SO, if ya have any freeware (not pirated $$ programs) and you would like to share the website you found it or give pros and cons, post it here. I think I speak for everyone when I say "I love freeware". Go ahead, let the downloads roll...right.

Ya know anti spam things don't work. It blocks certian words in the subject or ppl on block list. There are tons of ways around it. If i make anything ever at all its gonna be a Smart spam stoper. It will block contents in the letter

Harmony Hollow

Then of course there is Irfanview !

Not forgetting Gifworks or Flaming Text

Mike Lynn has a couple of minute yet powerful programs here, Stert Up Control Panel, and Start Up Monitor..http://www.mlin.net/

Cookie wall has spyware and ability to change windows settings. I use vcatch antivirus and it's advanced malicous code settings rated cookie wall at 85% . For this reason I uninstalled the programme although its performance was okay.
I think mailwasher, spybot S&D and adaware 6 are among the best freeware programmes.
For maintaining my startup I use control panel CPL.exe and startup monitor. Startup monitor gives you a warning when a programme registers itself in the startup group and you can decide whether to include it in the list or not. I think these two are among the best startup programmes.
And of course AVG antivirus 6 is the best choice among the free antivirus softwares. It is the best in free antivirus programmes . Home users can use it confidently.

I use ZoneAlarm, Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware and it has never detected anything resembling spyware. I have never read anything anywhere that has mentioned Cookiewall in connection with spyware. Got any more info on that accusation? I'd be interested in seeing it. As far as changing Windows settings, what settings does it change? It does nothing on my computer but manage cookies according to how I have it set.

Alot of interesting sites posted...especially Son of Spy's Freeware posted by: mawil

Tons of misc things I haven't seen. Cool site.

*edit*

OE Spell Checker is alternative for people who want to use OE spell check feature, but don't have any MS Office applications, which are needed in order for the 'spell check' feature in Outlook Express.

InCtrl5...

Yes, now that's a useful program...I've been wondering for a while if there was such a program out there that could monitor and display the exact changes that take place when installing new software on your system. Now I know there is such a program....sweet!

You'll have to give us XP users the heads up when a compatible version comes out. Sounds like must have to me.

For the computer technicians out there, this site has some very nice utilities that may help out. Many of which are freeware.

Sysinternals Freeware

Hope this helps.
