com freezes during loading of windows logo
Hi all, not too exactly what is the exact problem with my com @ the moment, but here goes. sometimes my com just freezes up suddenly or could come out with the blue screen nv4 disp. so i reset my com but sometimes the com just freezes when its @ the windows loading page but works fine with safe mode/networking. Anyways i read up some articles, it could be windows updates, graphic card driver or even bios . i tried updating my windows & graphic card but the problem still exsists.

Could it be due to my CMOS too? I off my CPU main power n when I on it in the evening the time / date were all messed up
I reset it to the defaults values as some website recommend that it helps to solve the issue Last edited by hyk; June 21st, 2012 at 03:13 AM. |

Please post the specs of the computer and particular the graphics model and which driver your trying to install. After you change the date and time, does it change back after reboot?

I don't understand.
the time/date remains but once i off the main power of the cpu(power socket) the date/time are all gone If you boot the computer to SAFE MODE and the time and date is wrong, you change it, then shut down. Reboot and the time and date are still wrong is what I am asking? Reboot and immediately get into SETUP, 1st screen tells you how, usually a "F" key or the "DEL" key. Once in SETUP check the date and time are they right? If they are not then your CMOS battery is going bad. Is this a name brand computer such as HP, ACER, Compaq ect... or a home built one. Here is the latest driver for the 9600GT card |

The time and date should not change at all, whether the computer is plugged in or not. The CMOS battery on the motherboard powers the date and time and CMOS settings in memory, even without power. That is what it is for.
Have you tried installing the Video Driver I posted a link to? When you boot into Safe Mode the computer will load a generic video driver that is why it works OK. |

The magic of CTH post and get it fixed.
![]() The big difference, was after research found the 301.42 Driver (last link I posted) was the most up-to-date for your card. If that is the last driver you installed, then that is what fixed it. Hope it stays OK. |
