USB drives not working

My sister just got a new asus laptop. After getting it all setup, updated windows and ran asus live update. The the USB's stopped working and show this error message in device manager.
"A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)"

I have already right click on each of the drive and clicked uninstall and restarted the computer and that has not resolved the issue. Any help would be great.

UPDATE.

I was able to resolve the problem. Had to delete the upper and lower in the reg. for the usb ports.
