Actually, that Best Buy program showed as loading in Chrome and Firefox. Assuming Chrome is okay now (if we haven't done it already), in Firefox, go to Help - Restart with Add-ons Disabled. In that "Firefox Safe Mode" display that opens, place checks next to the following, then click "Make changes and restart".

Reset toolbars and controls

Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults

Restore default search engines

You can change those later to whatever you prefer, but for now that will eliminate unwanted baggage like Best Buy.

Then go here and download and install the free trial version of Revo's Uninstaller, and see if that shows Best Buy.

If so, right click Best Buy pc app, and select Uninstall, then follow the prompts to complete the uninstall. Be sure to leave the setting as "Moderate", and it is okay to use "Select All" to Delete what Revo finds.

Reboot after.

A Caution - Revo is honestly a tool of last resort. I suggest never using it in lieu of the program's own uninstaller, and never for any security programs.

Any other issues we need to address, before we start cleaning up our work there?

All the vulnerable programs show as updated (Java, Reader, Flash) so good job on that, though it deflates the excitement of my closing steps here.

Just need to remove what our work added here to finish up.

You can also at this time delete the files/folders of the tools we used. To assist with some of that run OTL again. This will help by automatically removing some of the tools we used.

Just click CleanUp, and select Yes. When it finishes removing some of the tools and files we used there just agree to the reboot.

In addition, I like to recommend reviewing the information Here to make sure you stay malware free.

Jintan,

Thanks, but I've had enough excitement with this computer these past few days! I'm just glad that this seemed to be a relatively simple fix. I wasn't so lucky with my last comp. (RIP). I ran OTL, then uninstalled the other tools we used. Afters I rebooted, everything seems to be back on track. A big thank you for all your help!
