Is it email or WWW?

Email and the Web are two services of the Internet. I've noticed that Web forms directing comments or questions to the site provider are commonly called "email." Is that correct?

Generally, such web forms will be sending an email once you hit the submit button, that is why they are named "email".
The webform itself is still an http page.

However it is worth noting that the move away from pop email to imap and cloud based email (gmail, outlook.com) has blurred the lines even further between web and mail.
