Hidden spyware

Hi all,
For privacy reasons, I would like to run a keylogger program in the background to spy my spouse, without its icon showing in the system tray (near the clock)
I need to completely remove the icon, not just hide it by using the "Customize Notifications" menu.
(Note : it is impossible to check the "Remove system tray icon" option in the FREE version of the soft)
Is there some system tray entry in the registry that I can delete?
