Question Corrupt file Problem

In Windows 7 Library area, there is usually 4 different libraries... Videos, pictures, music and documents.. When I Updated RealPlayer, I ended up with another library folder called Podcasts... I had a folder in the Podcast library that I could not open... everytime you tried to open it, delete it, click on it to see Properties, the windows explorer would crash. I was reading online that a corrupt file inside the folder can cause this... but if that is the case HOW do you delete the file that is bad.. you can't even open the folder.
I deleted the Podcast library with the folder and the bad file. I opened a video in realPlayer today and Podcast suddenly came back and inside was the folder with the corrupt file... once again I cannot do anything with this folder... I again, deleted Podcast with the folder inside ...
If this thing comes back again (it has already come back three times now)...how can I delete this folder ith the corrupt file inside without having to delete the entire Podcast library. I have never had this problem before ...I had this problem for the first time about three weeks ago.... this corrupt file inside the folder and the folder, keep coming back like a ghost haunting me...it is bizzare.
So if this thing comes back again.. how can I delete the corrupt file or the folder with the file in it if I can't click on the folder at all ..it continues to crash windows explorer. I've scanned the computer for virus and adware and all, and everything is clean..
thank you
barbara

Have you tried running System Restore and choosing a date before you updated Real Player?

I think you misunderstand what I was saying Mamacat104. You have identified the Real Player update as the cause of the problem so running System Restore and choosing a snapshot taken before you updated Real Player should fix it.

Oh okay... doing a system restore after the update to take it back to before I did the update.. ..Yes, that makes sense.. Is there no other way to get rid of one of these corrupt files? The first time the problem appeared, I was cleaning up files on an external hard drive...rearranging them into folders when I had one old folder that I couldn't open...trying to open it would totally crash the windows explorer. I finally managed to move the problem folder into the Podcast library but the only way to get rid of the folder with the corrupt file in it was to delete the podcast library and then empty the recycle bin. But for some reason, this podcast library appeared back into the library folders... have no idea how it got back... when I opened the podcast library, in it was a realplayer folder but I couldn't open the folder at all..anytime I clicked onto the realplayer the windows explorer crashed and closed. How I ended up with the realplayer folder with a corrupt file in it I don't know.. I didn't do an update that that time... I only opened realplayer and played a video with it.... so I deleted the podcast library once again...emptied the recycle bin... This time, I did an update on realplayer... now the podcast library reappeared again and once again the realplayer folder was in it. So after deleting the podcast library with the realplayer folder inside the first time... it came back twice now... So far the podcast library hasn't appeared back yet... but I guess the only thing I can do is if podcast comes back and it has the realplayer folder in it again.. just delete the podcast folder. I don't use the realplayer download for anything anyway... I use a download manager for what I want downloaded.
thanks... Sorry I misunderstood the message... I usually know what anyone is sayign to do... I use the forum sometimes when I get stuck... and you people are great with the help.... most of the time, I can figure things out and fix them, but when I get stumped, I come in for help...
Have a great evening...

No problem. I think it's the easiest way to go.
