Windows 7 Backup- Is this normal?

Hi one and all,

I have just finished my first backup using the system included with Win 7.
I have exactly 312,9 GB of data on the three internal hard disks.
I configured the the backup to register everything on all three disks to an external disk of 1,5 Tb.
After four days it's just finished and now shows a backup measuring 727 GB!!!!

Is this normal? ...It seems weird to me...the backup is more than double the original total???

Any help or insights most appreciated.
Lionel

Hi AnnMarie,

Thanks for the link. It shows a method of looking into the content of the backup, something I cannot normally do as it's a .bat file. It would seem that while I was doing the backup I had an external media disk connected which contained a lot of music and a couple of hundred films. While I had not nominated this disk for backup it would seem it had been included anyway. This accounts for the extra +/- 400GB of data.
Thanks again for the link, certainly helped solve my mystery.
