Unhappy Li-Ion battery wont hold a charge

I have a used Dell Inspiron 3800 laptop but the battery that came with it cant hold a charge worth a *insert word of your choise here*

I charge it over night and look at the battery's charge indicator (a series of 5 LEF lights) and they all light up indicating a full charge. But if I use the laptop with the battery, at full charge, I can only get about 2 minutes worth of working time.

I have been told putting the battery in the freezer will solve the problem. Any input?

Thanks,
Wild Card

laptop batteries does not last as long as they used to. Try start - all programs - utilities - battery Optimizer. Follow the onscreen instructions. It will take 6-8 hours.

Umm, I dont have that option. I have Start, Programs, but no utilities, or battery optimizer.

I've downloaded BATRCAL.exe from Dell's website and Im giving that a try.

I had put the battery in the freezer over night but that didnt do anything.

I have always heard about the freezer trick but you are the first one to give a result. Sorry it did not work. Hopefully that file from dell will help.
