Wireless network controller issues
Hi
My wife has an acer aspire 5552 laptop. recently it has started with a problem withe networking. basically it doesnt see my wireless network at home. everything els ewe have,(my pc, phone, ps3, etc) all see it and are connected. so, a while ago i just uninstalled and reinstalled the Atheros wireless network controller through device manager and it found it straight awway and connected. this worked for a while but then it needed it every time to find the network and connect. i looked up google and found that it could be an issure with the controller failing or the easier fix, reinstall windows 7 home premium, which i did. hoever it has not cureed the problem and i have to unisdtalled/reinstll the atheros driver in device manager every time to connect which is getting a little bit frustrating. any advice on what to do to fix this. other than this the laptop runs perfectly, running windows home premium acer aspire 5552 laptop (please ignore my sig as it doesnt relate to the pc with the problems. much obliged |

Sounds like the built in network adapter is bad, if the laptop is under warranty make Acer fix it. If it isn't you can install an after-market usb adapter (available just about anywhere that sells computers). Just disable the onboard adapter prior to installing the usb one.
