A question about an application called Threatfire

A friend has asked me whether or not she should install Threatfire. She's running free Avast, and free Malwarebytes with Windows XP.
What do you malware experts think?

Threatfire is itself an antivirus program, so your friend definitely doesn't want more than one installed on any one system. Avast includes quite a bit of net access security itself, so really should suffice.

As a mention, what an odd page you linked to. Seems more an advert for Spyware Doctor (which currently does not have much of a track record), but also "It did a better (and faster) job than Norton AntiBot". Last I know Norton owns PCTools, which make both.

Thanks for the info Tom, I passed it along, and I'm sure my friend will be happy with the information.
I agree with you about that page I linked to. They want to give you Threatfire for free, but they point out all of Threatfire's inadequacies so they can get you to buy Spyware Doctor. I guess they think they're pretty slick.
