How do I know if my computer have a malware rootkit. Can I prevent it from happening?

Your other Hardware thread shows you apparently have a disk issue. Please stay the course there, and no threads here until Murf suggests it goes beyond a drive problem. I am not ignoring your requests, but directed you from a thread here to that Hardware forum thread because I do not read infection into your situation.
