Question some folders and files are faded others are clear? Help!

when i open up my files some of the files and or folders look normal... others are faded... ive never seen this before... and do not know what to do... am running windows 98se. help!

Right click on one of the 'faded' folders and select 'Properties'. See if the 'Read-only', or 'System' attributes are set. That could explain the 'faded' look.

folders

ive clicked on several of them --- each says something different, some say hidden, some say archive, some have both .....i ran virus scan, came up clean... ran spy bot... came up clean..im confused.... this happened after i was searching the web with google yesterday....

that is how they tell you they are hiden folders they are liter prob. system files

???

ok... so how do i get them to not show at all....they never showed up like that before untill yesterday....the only thing that showed up was plain ole files and folders... if they are supposed to be hidden then why arent they????

i sure could not guess how you done it, it should be tools/internet options/show hidden files and folders main thing dont delete them

Hi luanne,

Click Start > Settings > Folder Options > View tab
Click the radio button next to 'Do not show hidden or system files'
and click OK.
