Help w/ HJT Log

my computer since saturday. When I go to use my internet explorer, my hompage is different and every now and then it crashes on any page. Mozilla crashes on pages too. When I try to go to msconfig and hijackthis, they close when my mouse touches the window. And I tried to system restore, but it keeps turning itself off. Hi Slimrocktwo. Newer versions of Hijack This have been released with more features than the version you are using. Go here and download the latest version and replace the version you are using. Run Hijack This again and post a new log.

Also go here and download Silent Runners.vbs (clicking the the download link works if you use IE. If you use FireFox, rightclick on the link and choose "Save Link As" to a new folder on your drive and run it. It generates a log too. It takes a minute or two and it will notify you with a popup when your log is ready (it will be in the new folder you created). Please post the information back in this thread. If your antivirus program queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious.

Download The Avenger from here http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip to your Desktop and unzip it.

Copy all the text contained in the code box below by highlighting it and right clicking and selecting "Copy"

Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop. Look under "Script file to execute" and click on "Input Script Manually". Next click on the Magnifying Glass icon and a blank dialogue box will open called "View/Edit script". Position your mouse inside the box, rightclick and choose Paste. All the text above in the code box should now appear there. Click Done and click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script. Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

The Avenger will restart your computer. When you have rebooted, a black command window briefly opens on your desktop, this is normal. A logfile will be created that records all actions that The Avenger performed. This log file is saved to C:\avenger.txt. The deleted files will be backed up and saved to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

Once your computer has rebooted, please post back the contents of C:\avenger.txt, a new Hijack This log and a new Silent Runners log (I will need to see a new Hijack This log this time)

Something is not right. The below folder existed just prior to you running the Avenger yet the log shows it wasnt found. Can you look in the Avenger backups folder please and tell me what is in there.

There are still a couple of restrictions in place that need to be fixed. Go here and download SR2.reg to your Desktop. Doubleclick on it and ok the prompt to merge with your registry.

Reboot and post a new Silent Runners log and Hijack This log. Also tell me if you can you run msconfig etc now?

Your logs look ok now but just to be sure that all is well, go here and download ATF cleaner. Use it to remove all Temp Files, Cookies and Temp Internet Files, Java Cache and any others that you would like to remove. If you also use Opera or Firefox, also click on the cleaning options for each browser.

Next, go here and run the Panda scanner and post back the report. It can take quite a while to complete so please be patient.

Also go to Start > Run and type:

cmd.exe

and ok. Copy and paste the below string after the prompt > and hit Enter.

dir /s /a "c:\winlogon*.*" > c:\find.txt & start notepad c:\find.txt

Your drive will be scanned and when finished, Notepad will pop up with some information. Copy and paste it in this thread.
