Laptop frozen to "logging off" screen, please help?

My laptop has parental controls that log off at 12:00, and a minute before 12 I closed the laptop to go to bed, and this morning when I opened it it was frozen to the logging off screen (I could still move the mouse though). So I unplugged the power and waited it to die, and when it did I plugged it back in, and it went to system resume, but it is back to the "logging off" screen again. What do I do to fix it? My laptop is a Dell, Windows Vista.

Hi Lumynescence. Try hitting Ctrl + Alt + Del and see if you can log off this way. If not, you will have to disconnect it from the power source and pull the battery out of it. Leave it like this for a minute or so and then replace it and power up.
