I have on the cd quicktime 6.0 to use to view the Thomson tutorial CSI. in order to proceed with the course I have to view videos. i really hope someone can help me with this.
When I try to load up the cd I get the above problem and a list of errors. i tried changing the compatability ratings to allow it to run still nothing. says macromedia projector encountered a problem and needs to close. information you were working on might be lost. the following files will be included in this error report C:\ DOCUME~1KH-B~1\LOCALS~Temp\WER11.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt.

I will include the HJT log below. I hope someone can help me I am at my witts end. I tried the recovery file to fix corrupted files still not working. i have used avast as well.

I don't understand the highlighted part above. Don't you have the latest quicktime player loaded on your computer?

Hi I have managed to get it working. I unplugged everything and let the computer rest over night. I then proceeded to delete the partition and hit a few buttons and presets. I thought to myself this is as bad as it gets so I migth as well keep trying..'sighs'. I went through the bios. Took a few hours to do but managed to use the recovery disc to reinstall and recover the partition. I am not even sure how I managed to do it other than a 'sheer fluke'. I sat and went ok I give up I might as well pray. so ahem I did...I said "Come on I'm praying...please let it work."

I daren't use the cd from college for the tutorial as I dont want to end up back to square one. Im currently running anti virus just incase. I no longer have wordpad set up but installed works 2007. I wanted to say thanks for the reply. All seems stable luckily I had backed the programme files up onto cds so if needs be I can reinstall them. However, its nice to see the pc looking so clean. I realise it needs de-fragging though.
