Something is running in the background, slowing down my computer

My computer is running really slowly and appears to be trying to do something in the background. When I shut down, there is an End Now window coming up showing a button with Zoom In beside it. What is this?

Hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete. In the task manager look under C column see what process is using your CPU..

It appears to be some kind of Acer configuration tool.
It seems the process can be safely terminated, assuming you don't use the tool. If it's using that much of your resources, I would get rid of it.
I would also look in Windows Services and see if there is an instance of it set to run automatically there. If so, try changing it to manual and see if that keeps it from coming back.

You should also look in your startup programs in msconfig to make sure it's not set to start every time you start your computer.

Post back if this works.

According to what I can find, QTZpAcer is Acer Launch Manager: "...on Acer laptops it allows users to configure shortcut keys and to set the operating state of the WLAN module and the (optional) Bluetooth radio."
