Increasing partition size on partition with OS installed
Hello
I have windows 7 installed on a seperate hard drive and I'm beginning to realise the partition size I gave it will run out in the near future so I'm interested in expanding the partition. There's plenty of room on the hard drive to accomplish this. To test that it worked (as I hadn't done this kind of thing before), I shrunk the partition of the one without Windows installed and attempted to expand the partition with Windows installed... however when attempting to do so I got this message: "The operation you selected will convert the selected basic disk(s) to dynamic disk(s). If you convert the disk(s) to dynamic, you will not be able to start installed operating systems from any volume on the disk(s) (except the current boot volume). Are you you want to continue?" This to me sounds like it will cause issues with Windows 7 so until someone with experience tells me otherwise I'll leave it for the time being. If need be I could reinstall Windows 7, it's just a bit of a hassle is all. I've posted this here as I'm attempting to do this via Windows Vista (installed on another hard drive altogether). Thanks for your help. |

Hi Hathaway. Why not try Windows 7's Disk Management utility?
