AutorunApp error preventing opening new game installation, help!

I hope someone can help me, I've just installed a game (Pro Cyling Manager 2008) on my computer, but when I go to open it from the desktop shortcut it won't open and I get a message syaing "AuotrunApp has encountered a problem and needs to close".

I've updated drivers, got the latest patch but get the same error each time and having tried to find out what AutorunApp could mean I get nowhere. Has anyone encountered this problem or have any idea what I might do?

I have windows xp home edition and attach an everest log. I hope someone can help, dying to play the game!

Thumbs up

Ok, I have resolved the problem for anyone looking at this.

In searching the web for some pointers I have managed to relate Autorun App to Microsofts Silverlight software. I then checked control panel, add remove programmes, to find it installed on my computer. Not knowingly downloading silverlight I related the installation to the beta version of IE8 which I decided to try after being offered the opportunity.

So, I uninstalled Silverlight, then IE8 and reinstalled IE7. Popped in the disk and Bob's you're uncle Pro Cycling Manager 2008 works fine!

Now, I'm no computer expert so I cannot tell you what the actual technical issue is but should anybody else get a similar error message this may help you.

I'm now off to play the game!
