Exclamation My computer not finding Drivers for an external hard drive

I bought an External hard drive with out reseaching it real good .It is an Iomega Prestige 1 TB USB 2.0. My OS is Wn98. I contact Iomega and they siad I need a program that can make NTFS drives appear in Wn98. Can some one tell me were I can find this program?

Thanks for answering so fast. I did down loaded what they siad I need with no luck. But did updated some things. they are sending me a disk with the drives for this unit.I think I still need A program that make NTFS drives appear in Windows 98. I went to google looking for it. Found it but could not down load it.It was a free down load . Do you know were I can get a copy of NTFS for Windows 98v1.03?

Most of the free trials or shareware ones are read only for the drive. To be able to read and write to the drive you would need to buy the software.

There may be a freeware version out there that does both, but I've Googled for a bit and couldn't find one.
Maybe someone else here knows of one. But this should at least get your PC to recognize the drive.

HI Kaveman 1969, I have tryed those sites with no luck. I went to the Iomega support and did a 1 on1 chat . after all I down load from thier site . they finaly told me that the external Hard drive dose not support Windows 98 . I would have to go to Windows XP or higher. I will try to up grade my computer to Windows XP. but first I need to back some files. Thanks again for your Help.

Hi to all thats been helping me on my problem on get the external hard drive to work on my OS Wn98. It was told to me that I needed to Up grade to Windows XP or higher, but the computer I have was too old.I was planning to go to Windows XP But was not sure what would happen. I wanted to do a clean installment but I had no way to back by up my files. So Last Friday late I through cation to the wind and went for it. Just the up grade { Not the clean installment} to Wnidows XP SP1 and every thing is working.Still have my old setting and files I might of lost some files Not sure yet. but it looks good. Now I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. Thank you all again.
