How to remove Ask Toolbar
When I try to remove the Ask Toolbar it starts, then gives the error:
Error 1316 A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\Windows\Installer\Ask Toolbar.msi. I opened the program and asked for a repair thinking it could repair then I could remove but that wouldn't work either. You have helped me before, I hope that you can again. Thanks for being here!! I cannot find it under the programs. I have to find it under the add/remove in control panel. I tried to remove and that gets an error. I tried to modify and got "we've detected you already have a Toolbar provided by Ask.com". I tried a repair and got the same line.
Thank you for your attention. Syl |

That was quite a while ago but I did remove it. I found this site that sounds like it may work.. Good luck.

The program that they say to use in that blog shows up as a trojan 4/44 when you upload it to virus total.
I downloaded it and used it and it didn't work for me at all. I am able to uninstall ask toolbar but it won't leave my add/remove programs list. Windows 7 |
