using specific resolutions
hi
is there a way to force a game to use a resolution that is does not support in its settings, like 1280x800 for example

It depends on a couple of things:
1) What game
2) What video card.

1) Games sometimes have hidden configuration files that can be altered to force a certain resolution that isn't available in their GUI options

2) Video card drivers may be able to force the resolution via their control panel.
