Problems with Belkin N300 USB Network Adapter

I am having issues with a newly purchased Belkin N300 (F6L1002) wireless USB network adapter. The signal strength to my Linksys E1500 wireless router is good but the speed is slow (i.e. 1 Mbps). The computer using the adapter is the only device having speed issues. My laptop, iPad, iPod, and other wireless devices are not experiencing speed issues even when right next to the problematic computer. I have tried adjusting the channel and MTU without success. The computer is located in different room than the router but they are only about 15 feet apart. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
