enabling 16:9 aspect ratio in on Intel 945GM integrated Chipset

I recently purchased second monitor to help with data processing and it has a maximum resolution of 1600x900. I have tried everything I know of and still can only get the 16:10 aspects up to 1440:900 to show up in windows resolution selection on Windows 7.

I have: updated the BIOS, updated all drivers (monitor and chipset),

I am running Windows 7 in a Thinkpad R60 with 3.0 GB Ram, Intel T2400 @1.83GHz, with integrated GPU on a Mobile 945GM chipset.

Any ideas/help?

Thank you!

The video chip will control the max resolution you can use. The Lenovo Thinkpad R60 9457 video chip display for the laptop max is 1024 x 768.

If you are using multiple displays in Clone or Duplicate mode, you can only select a resolution that is supported by all displays

In Extended Desktop mode, each display can be set to different resolutions.

So check if you are in clone or duplicate mode.

To check if you are in Clone mode and to switch to Single Display mode: press the Ctrl+Alt+F12 keys to open the Intel graphics driver's control panel.

For newer Intel graphics drivers, click Multiple Displays > Operating Mode, select desired display mode, and click OK

For older Intel graphics drivers, click Display Devices, select the appropriate monitor or display device for Single Display mode, and click OK.
