What is this on my PC ??(wuredir.cab)
Hi team,
I don't know if this is a problem or not only over the last few weeks when I have been activating my BT Broad Band connection I have had this come up on the Nortons Virus scan, wuredir.cab ..... it say's it is located in windows/software distribution. I am no expert and I have looked to see if I can find this in the programming but as yet have had no luck. I have heard a few story's recently of people on dial up having premium rate dialers downloading on them and naturaly it does make you concerned. Can this sort of hi-jack be posible on BB ? I have Nortons anti virus and Nortons firewall installed both up to date also I have Ad-aware SE.. everything appears ok. Anyone have any ideas or advice please. Thanks Simon |

Hi ,
IF it is wuredir.cab in C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\WuRedir\9482F4B4-E343-43B6-B170-9A65BC822C77 it is part of MS redirect to Windows Update. Needed to get windows updates. Cheers |

It looks simple now but it has only recently started to pop up on the anti-virus check box.... thanks for that It's amazing how something simple can have such a sinister ring to it. Cheers Simon |
