Open Member Quote   Just wanted to say THANKS to everyone at CTH. A Presbyterian pastor taught me that one can never say thank you enough and that everyone needs to pass it on when you hear it. Over the past two weeks I have read so much great information (so many posts...so little time) and picked up considerable knowledge. THANK YOU ALL! - uncleable  Close Member Quote

ATI

Sapphire today announced its latest Sapphire X1950 GT graphics card based on the AMD ATI Radeon X1950 GT graphics processor. The Sapphire X1950 GT takes on graphics cards based on NVIDIAs previously released GeForce 7900GS with MSRP pricing set at $179. NVIDIA GeForce 7900GS based graphics cards sell for as low as $169.99 or $149.99 after mail-in rebate.

The Sapphire X1950 GT features similar specifications as to ATI Radeon X1950 Pro cards including 36 pixel shaders, 12 pixel pipelines, 256-bit memory interface and CrossFire compatibility. Clock speeds reduced to 500 MHz core and 1200 MHz memory compared to 575 MHz core and 1380 MHz memory of ATI Radeon X1950 Pro-based graphics cards.

Sapphire X1950 GT graphics cards will only be available with 256MB of GDDR3 instead of the 256MB and 512MB offerings of its ATI Radeon X1950 Pro-based offerings. Other notable features of the Sapphire X1950 GT include dual dual-link DVI outputs with HDCP support and TV-out. The Sapphire X1950 GT is only available in PCIe x16.

Expect the Sapphire X1950 GT to hit retail later this week with pricing around $179.
