Google

Some time ago, the rumors about a potential Google TV were quickly spreading on the Internet but the search giants representatives refused to comment on them. It seems like the company is again interested in creating a new service to represent the old Google TV but there is no official statement yet. Digit Online sustained in an article that Google is now preparing to launch the service because they posted numerous job advertisements on their webpage. Among the entire collection of job openings, Google is looking for software engineers to make the information useful for TV.

"Television remains the single most important source of information and entertainment for billions of people around the world. We are hiring software engineers to bring Google technology to this vital medium worldwide, Google states in an ad for a television technology software engineer position in Mountain View, Calif, according to the same publication.

It seems like the entire system will be based on Google VOD (video on demand) that is currently the base of multiple online televisions that allows viewers to select the broadcasted content. As you know, Google currently owns YouTube, the online video sharing service that attracts millions of visitors every day and is often regarded as the perfect solution to replace the old-fashioned TV. YouTube currently provides an impressive amount of video content including music clips, TV shows, movies and the most important part of the service, the users generated clips that attract the majority of visitors.

A Google TV would surely represent a turning point in the evolution of the technology because it would be able to provide high quality bundled with low resources. Although there is no official statement yet, it would be extremely interesting if Google were able to continue its free offerings campaign and provide this amazing product bundled with a freeware license.
