I think I'm gonna bless the day I was told about this site ... already I'm finding my way around and discovering that I'm not such a dummy after all ... there are 'others out there' who like me are having problems ... (small ones of course), but what is even better, is that the 'family' are so willing to help with suggestions and results. Already I've found answers to 2 problems I HAD. ... Anyone who's ever watched a movie or played a 3D game in true 5.1 surround knows one thing: There's no going back. 5.1 (or greater) is simply the way it's meant to be heard. The problem is, 5.1 can be a little hard to do. Oh, it's relatively simple technology and there are tons of very affordable 5.1 speaker systems out there. The problem is the actual setup. Our PCs are often stuffed into a corner or against a wall where there's no good place to put a pair of satellites behind you.
Logitech offers a solution with its new high-end 5.1 system. The Z-5450 Digital 5.1 Speaker System isn't exactly cheap, at a retail price of $500, but it offers plenty of power, decodes all the popular formats, and features rear speakers that don't require speaker wire snaking all over the room.
