Copy and Paste problem

Hi,
Intermittingly over the last few months, I have had trouble with copying and pasting.
I don't get an error message, I just find that I can't paste. Sometimes I find it comes right if I try to paste into another document or copy something else and paste into something else. For instance, I am copying and pasting something into my webpage and paste stops working and quite often I find if I open a new email message and paste into that or copy and paste something else into this email, it seems to come right.

However I have not been able to fix the problem today. I opened clipboard and the message "clipbook viewer cannot display the information in it's current format. To view the information, paste into another document".
This window inside the clipboard is sort of flashing. A grey band is sort of flashing up and down very quickly, so I gather there is a problem here.

Can anyone help me with fixing this please?

Thanx,

Jayne

longshot - try deleting the files in your temporary internet folder.

If this does not work, tell about your computer, cpu, ram, harddrive size/space available. The space available is important.

Hi renegade,

Just because I posted this, the jolly thing is working again and this time I didn't do anything to try to fix it, just tried again.
Temp files were deleted yesterday.

computer info: I am not sure if I have done this right or not but I have
celeron CPU 2.1GHz
224 mb ram

From task manager
Physical memory (K)
Total 228848
avail 31740
sys cache 86340

Kernel memory
total 86704
paged 79408
nonpaged 7296

If this isn't right, could you please tell me where to get the harddrive info from?

Thanks heaps,
Jayne

Some possible causes - According to your physical memory, you have alot running in the background. You may need to go through your startup list and turn off anything you do not use.

Also lets see if there are any nasties on your computer, download hijackthis and post the log it creates per the first message in this thread.

I also suggest upgrading your ram to 512.
