View Full Version : problem with 95 disc

May 9th, 2002, 11:27 AM
I've reformatted my friends harddrive on their computer and put their cdrom drivers on to read the win 95 disc, but it's missing the executable setup file. Any ideas? If I don't figure it out soon my friend is going to kick my ass.

Hi there - do you mean you can access the CD-Rom from DOS prompt but there is no setup.exe in the root directory?
If so, I doubt that is a genuine Windows CD and you should kick his ass right back.

That said, you could try looking in the Win95 directory on the CD for setup.exe.
D:\>CD win95 [enter]
D:\WIN95>dir/w/p [enter]

see it?

I've gone through every folder and searched the disk and can't find a setup executable file on my friends window 95 disk. She is crying of her poor baby....
does anyone know of any way to start the windows install?
