View Full Version : DriveSpace problem

May 28th, 2002, 10:10 AM

I have 2 harddrives on my PC namely C & D.
Drive D is compressed.(it has been for months) Now all of a sudden when I boot up I get a message " Drivespace could not mount Drive D due to problems with the drive or with your system config. Most of the file will beinaccessable"
When I try to mount it I get a message "Mount error #13 ID No DRVSPACE 045. Volume file damaged. Use scandisk"
When I use scandisk it finds no problem on D but when I scan D:\DRVSPACE.000 I get a message "A data error occurred while reading this Drvspace volume's host drive. Run a surface scan at the command prompt." I do it but gets the same results.
PLEASE HELP, I have data on this drive that I cannot afford to lose !!
Thanks (hennieva@mweb.co.za)

Hi Hennie, I'm afraid I can't give you much except a link to M$ to go through some routine troubleshooting: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q133175
