"mouse dyslexia"

I know someone who has what his friends call "mouse dyslexia". When using a mouse, he uses it upside-down but when using other pointer devices he uses them "normal". Has anybody else heard of this?

I guess it depends how they learned how to use a mouse. Everyone thinks I am left handed because I use the mouse with my left hand. There was a space issue when I first started using a computer. However, with touch pads and other pointing devices I use my right.

I use my left hand for the mouse too - mainly because my right hand is partly knackered.
I've never heard of an upside down mouse user though. :dizzy:

Never heard of it but I can picture how they might use it. Saw a great show on that type of dyslexia one night. I was amazed at how those people with that form of dyslexia calculate things. Far quicker than you or I reading things from a normal perspective. Totally amazing.

maybe he played games alot with inverted axis and just got used to it like older fps games

He did not get used to it from any games or such. He struggled using the mouse the "normal" way and one day when helping another student, he grabbed the mouse and it "felt" right and it happened to be upside down and was immediately able to use it like the average user.

My friend holds a pool cue with his left hand even though he is right handed.

Hi, yes I have the same condition and I was thinking that I am the only black sheep in this world as everbody find me strange. When I was 12 my dad brought a computer to the house and I tried to use the mouse like other people but I couldnt. So I tried turning to different angles and eventually realised that I can only use it up side down. Since then I have been using it in that way. Its nothing to do with being left handed or right handed.

Does it matter? The topic is still relevant.

Just to prove that I do not have to wait 15 years to necro-post. Interestingly Yasmin just managed one post so I will be dead by the time the response occurs if that is a benchmark for posting.

Looks like perhaps someone turned Yasmin's mouse the right way around and she has been unable to navigate her way back.
