I just acquired this laptop and can't get internet to come up. I'm using hotspot from my phone and my other laptop brings up internet just fine. And I have the wi-fi button set to on.

Brand Dell
Model Inspiron 1525\
Type Notebook/Laptop
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo
Operating System Windows Vista Home Basic
Processor Speed 2.00 GHz
Graphics Processing Type Integrated/On-Board Graphics
Ram 4GB

All it says when I try to go on line is Windows cannot find any network

Thanks kuzzz

Delete the current Drivers and Install the Latest one.
-- Go to Device Manager and locate the network drivers,
-- Uninstall the network drivers, when you get the popup to uninstall it , put the check mark beside delete this driver.
-- Restart the computer.
Once the computer is restarted,
-- Go to
-- Put in your Service Tag and choose the Operating System.
-- Download and Install the latest drivers for the network adaptors for your computer.

But if I deleted the network driver how can I go to after rebooting?

I went to Dell support and they came up with no network driver.

Installer package for driver version and Intel PROSet/Wireless Tools version supporting Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN Mini Card and Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection Mini Card on Windows Vista operating system.

Assume you found them here:

Download it to a usb stick it is a *.exe file The MAr 2012 One, then copy it to the Dell and double click it to install.

Boy do I feel stupid. I found the wi-fi disabled in the device manager. And that's where I usually look first.
Thanks for your help and time it is appreciated
