Fixing photos
Is there software or an on-line service that will sharpen up blurry photos? It doesn't have to be CSI tv quality where the tech picks out a license plate out of a screen grab (which is impossible), but I want them to be passable or better. Some were taken before the day of autofocus, in low light or with cheap cameras.

Most "free" picture/image software has a Sharpen feature. I know Irfanview and Xnview have that feature. You could look into those two, or even have a look at Paint, which comes with Windows OS's.

Truth is only SLIGHT blurring may be fixable. Anything visibly prominent won't be fixed.

I'm sure you know that CSI isn't real-life in 99.9% of it's episodes. :) There is no "enhance... zoom and enhance... zoom and enhance"

IrfanView can certainly help if the blurring is not severe. You may be able to get free plugins that can offer different sharpening algorithms. If you want the best in free image manipulation software, The GIMP comes with a lot of features and if you install the G'MIC plugin, you can play around for hours ;)
