Too often on laptops, the graphics chip starts separating from the motherboard due to heat, and the first sign is disappearing wifi. It's not the drivers that Windows doesn't see, but the wireless device itself. If this is the case with your computer, unfortunately one day the laptop will no longer boot up.

May not be the case here, but with an intermittent wireless device, the solution I use and recommend is to buy a USB Wirelss device. I use TP-Link such as this one, but there are cheaper ones available.

I have found that replacing the laptop's wireless card is never the solution.
