Assistance required with microphone ?

Can anyone advise how to enable inbuilt microphone on a Fujitsu Li3910 Laptop

1. Open Control Panel and click on 'Hardware and Sound' (Start>Control Panel)

2. Under 'Sound' click on 'Manage audio devices'

3. In the dialog box that opens click on the 'Recording' tab.

4. Two microphones are listed - one is the mic by the webcam, the other is the audio socket on the front of the computer. To determine which is which, highlight one and click the properties button. Under 'Jack Information' the in-built mic has 'ATAPI Internal ATAPI Jack'. Ensure the device is enabled. Close this dialog box.

5. Back in the first dialog box click the built in mic and then the 'Set default' drop box. Here you can set the mic as the default device and/or the Default Communication Device as required. The volume level bar corresponding to the selected mic will respond as you tap the microphone or speak into it.

6. Click 'Properties' again. The level and Boost level can be adjusted by clicking the 'Levels' tab.
