Need to remove wireless mouse and keyboard

My daughter is going to be working from home on our computer. The company involved runs a test on the computer and they require the mouse and keyboard to be wired. I had both wireless.

I replaced the wireless mouse and keyboard with wired usb versions. I deleted (I think) the wireless drivers, I cleared the cache, I restarted the computer, I took the batteries out the wireless mouse and keyboard. The company test STILL says, wireless mouse and keyboard detected. Remove and rerun test. Argh! What am I missing? What else can I do so that all evidence of the previous wireless mouse and keyboard are gone?

Thanks very much in advance.

Have you checked in the Device Manager to see if the mouse and keyboard are still listed?

interesting rule from that company. just delete the mouse and keyboard from the device manager, then restart the computer with the wired plugged in.

Yeah, that is an interesting rule. But I'm not sure they could tell anyway, except by reading the device driver's title.

I note with my wireless mouse and keyboard, under Human Interface Devices, it just says Microsoft Hardware USB Keyboard and Microsoft Hardware USB Mouse.

But under Mice and other pointing devices, it shows Microsoft USB Dual Receiver Wireless Mouse and Keyboard Center - which is the configuration program I can use to customize the mouse and keyboard buttons.

So make sure unplug the dongle, then make sure that driver is removed too.

Did you remove the USB dongle too.
