Looking for a simple website builder

I take classes at a local university. I have taken three semesters of Spanish, some phys ed classes, First Aid & CPR (recommended for everyone), etc. I am currently enrolled in a last half semester computer course. I thought it might a little to elementary for me and had doubts about it being interesting enough. Wrong! Although it started at a pretty basic level I have found the class to be interesting and enjoyable.

Or current exercise is building a web page on the university server. Creating the web space was easy enough but I am stuck at the next step which is to add some text to the page. We are going to be covering HTML but I doubt that it will be in sufficient depth to use the language much.

Is there an simple and easy website builder/editor available, preferably free? I know that some sites have editors that allow you to build a web page on their site but I am looking for one that I can use on my page which already exists. I have downloaded and installed Microsoft Expression Web 4 but have not figured out how to use it.

I'd honestly suggest you stick with the class rather than look for a "builder".

HTML is pretty simple and most people can pick up the basics, without direct instruction, in a week or two. I'm certain your class would cover it sufficiently.

And... in the end, getting used to a "builder" will do you more harm than good. You learn how to use the "builder" not how to structure HTML. There's a world of difference.
