Sims 2 cheats wont work on Vista

Hi all,
I recently installed the Sims 2 and other expansion packs for it on my new Vista Laptop. The game works beautifully. However, there is one problem I can't seem to figure out.
I cannot get the cheats to work. (I know cheating is bad. But sometimes it just fun to get the big house faster)
When I push and hold shift+ctrl+c the little cheat bar does not pop up like usuall.
PLEASE HELP!!!

I know this probably doesn't help you much, but I am also running The Sims 2 on a Vista laptop and my cheat bar works fine. I hope you figure out what's wrong because sometimes the kaching cheat is a lifesaver!

Thankfully I found the solution.
My hp laptop came with a program already installed that involved the ctrl+shift+c shortcut. Apparently they were conflicting.
All I did was change the hp program's shortcut and now it works fine (phew).
