Welcome to CTH

USB must be enabled in your BIOS (SETUP), when you first boot start hitting the DEL key (or whatever the screen tells you to use to get into SETUP), once in need to hunt around the different menu's until you find USB, make sure it is Enabled, if it isn't Enable it the SAVE & EXIT If it is enabled then do this:

Right click on "My Computer" then to "Properties" then to "Device Manager"

Scrool down do you see USB? If so highlight it, how many entries under USB and what are they?

In Device Manager there are three entries under USB Controller: Generic USB Hub, Intel 82371AB/EB PCIto USB Universal Host Controller, USB Root Hub. When I insert the Lexar Flash Drive, another listing shows up: ? Other Devices with "? JD Firefly" under it. I have gone to Lexar web site and downloaded Driver from there but Win98 still won't recognize it.

I edited your email out as Spammers browse boards like these for email addy's.

? Other Devices with "? JD Firefly

It is not recognizing the drive as a FLASH Drive.

As renegade600 indicated you will need the drivers for that one located HERE:

Ummm, what if it doesn't recognize any of those drivers, or they just don't install?

I've been fighting the same problem, also with a Firefly Jumpdrive. It will NOT install. I called Lexar and they said no matter what you do, if you have an older 1.0 USB port, you cannot get their jumpdrive to work on a windows 98 machine...I gave up.
