Question Windows XP -- How adjust brightness?

How do I adjust the brightness of my screen?
I tried going into Control Panel and there was nothing there.
I tried going into C.P. to change over to Classic View, and there was no option.
There are no manual controls.
Can't get HELP to let me ask that question.
H e l p M e!

If it's a laptop, please post back with the make and model.

If it's a desktop, please post back with the make and model of the monitor.

Try downloading a new driver for your monitor.. http://support.dell.com/support/down...0&fileid=99367

It is an auto monitor but you should have an icon that will open a panel so you can make manual ajustments..

I have a Dell flat panel monitor and it has tiny buttons on the front lower right part of its frame for adjusting everything, including brightness.

According to the instructions on this Dell page, the control buttons on their rack mounted flat panel monitors are on the "rear side panel."

Thank you all! I found my buttons. They were right in front on the lower right corner. Sometimes I miss stuff that is right in front of me, literally and figuratively! So a big DUH for me. Let's hear it...

Since we probably have the same sort of monitor, I understand completely how those tiny buttons can easily be missed.

I have an Emachine model EL1200 running xp. The monitor is a Samsung.
I wanted to adjust the brightness.
I went to Contol panel, clicked on Display, clicked on settings and clicked on advance. I got the following message:
Nvidia display panel extension cannot be created.
Possible reasons: version mismatch. Reinstalling display drivers may solve the problem.
What drivers do I need to solve this problem? Thanks.
