CPU Crashes!

I reformatted my computer(completely wiped out my cpu and uploaded everything) and everything works fine. i have a diffferent graphics card (ATI i think 9600/X1050 radeon series). I went to go play Counterstrike source or any of my valve games and after about 10-15 seconds, my screen would go blue and thats it, so i thought, crap forgot to switch my setting over at the boot menu, or w/e its called, to read the ATi, so i did that and it still does it.So i asked one of my buddies on the net and said to dl the driver or the latest direct x. I already had my driver downloaded and i downloaded the latest direct x and now its freezes after 20-30 seconds but its not a blue screen anymore, then someone else said to do a stability test on my ati card and it was at 36 and the website had a range of 11-51 so...help?

p.s. im not that big of a cpu geek so use words that are dumbed up for me lol

thanks

-mike
